2009 Inductees

In a State of more than 650,000 estimated veterans, for the Year 2009 only nineteen (19) veterans received the highest honor awarded by the Arizona Governor for their contributions in and outside their military service that provide inspiration to their fellow veterans and citizens of the State.

Since its inception in 2001, 184 Arizona veterans from all professions and branches of the service have been inducted to the Hall. 106 recipients are living today including five (5) Medal of Honor recipients. Many of the recipients were in attendance on October 30, 2009 to welcome their new colleagues and visit with the public.

The Arizona Veterans’ Hall of Fame Class of 2009 included Arizona Chapter of MOAA members CAPT William C. Jenkins USN (deceased) and MajGen Carl G. Schneider USAF of Scottsdale, Arizona.  They join 14 previous inductees from the AZ Chapter of MOAA in this prestigious organization.
